I found the Fall into Reading challenge via No Ordinary Moments and decided that I needed a little challenge to get caught up with my reading. Currently on my night stand I have a couple of books that I started on WAY too long ago and I am going to finish those. There are also several books I need to read to write reviews on, and my husband and I are very SLOWLY reading through the classics a la The Well Educated Mind.
So, here’s my list of reading I want to accomplish this fall.
The World is Flat by Thomas L. Friedman
Desiring God, Revised & Expanded By John Piper / Multnomah |
Called to Worship: The Biblical Foundations of Our Response to God’s Call By Vernon Whaley, Ph.D. / Thomas Nelson |
(review)
Call the Sabbath a Delight by Walter Chantry
The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids’ Favorite Meals By Missy Chase Lapine / Running Press Book Publishers |
Farraday Road, Lije Evans Mysteries Series #1 By Ace Collins / Zondervan |
(review)
The Sound of Sleigh Bells By Cindy Woodsmall / Random House, Inc |
The Sound of Sleigh Bells by Cindy Woodsmall (Review)
Crime and Punishment By Fyodor Dostoevsky / Wordsworth Editions Ltd |
Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky
Wisdom Hunter, Revised and Expanded By Randall Arthur / Random House, Inc |
Wisdom Hunter by Randall Arthur
(review)
Shadow Government: How the Secret Global Elite Is Using Surveillance Against You By Grant R. Jeffrey / Random House, Inc |
(review)
That’s a fairly ambitious list. I am sure that I will add others, but I want to make these the priority. If you want to participate, visit Callapidder Days for all the details. I’m also linking this post to the monthly What’s on Your Nightstand?. It’s something that I keep meaning to participate in, but seem to always miss.
Updating on 10/6: I have completed The Sound of Sleigh Bells and Crime and Punishment. I’m also adding Wisdom Hunter and Shadow Government to the list.
Great list with plenty of variety! I'm so glad you found the challenge, and that you decided to join in!

Great list of books. I've also read the well educated mind and slowly, very slowly working my way through the lists. Happy reading.

Oh, I'm so glad that you linked up with us this month. Yes, that is quite an ambitious list– very impressive. You should be quite busy. 🙂
I've never read a John Piper book but heard they are really good. Happy reading.
Looks like a great list! I am also trying to read classics that I missed growing up, and for the most part, am really enjoying them.
Happy reading!

Great list! Crime and punishment is one of my favorites. My brother in law would recommend The idiot by Dostoevsky. He said that was a great book.
Sorry that last comment was me I forgot to change it to my name.
I have been thinking about reading `Desiring God` for a while now. But, haven't gotten around to it yet. I have finally decided to read `My utmost for His Highest` by: Oswald Chambers. Although I am limiting myself to each day's devotional, not the whole book at one time. I haven't been good about doing devotional's. So maybe I will actually finish one this year.
BTW, I am following you on twitter. I am `tweeterbird`

So glad we are friends on twitter.
I am on facebook, also.
But, twitter is so much more convenient for me, right on the desktop.
However, I am now doing so much it's hard to keep up with everyone. I am enjoying it all. But sometimes I feel like I go back 2 steps for each step I go forward. Don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings.
Hope this finds you doing well.

I've read parts or some of a few of these books. The government surveillance one looks pretty intriguing; I may have to look into that one. I know I'll be watching for your review of it. I should really go through all the books I have on a basket on my nightstand and prioritize them again and then join in with this meme!
