Yesterday my son willingly practiced his Latin vocabulary. Even AFTER I told him he could stop. Needless to say, I was shocked.

The reason….

Quizlet.com

I had heard of quizlet.com, but hadn’t gotten around to figuring out how it worked or getting anything set up on it. I was lucky when I discovered someone else had already entered the Latin Alive I vocabulary for the first 13 chapters or so. I set up my own free account, copied that list over and now I’ll be able to add to the list.

The function of Quizlet is to help with memorizing facts. It is an obvious fit for things like vocabulary and foreign language but you could also use it for anything that you could put on a flashcard.

There are several different study options. The thing that my son was so intrigued by was the voice recognition feature. On the screen were a jumble of Latin words and their meanings. All he had to do was say the Latin word and then the meaning. The words would move together and then disappear!

Quizlet.com definitely works for me!

Disclosure statement: I received nothing for this endorsement. I wasn’t asked to write it, I don’t get anything for anyone who signs up for an account. I wrote this purely to share with others who might find it useful.

  1. Also check out memorize.com. It lets you divide your facts into sections that are easier to memorize. And allows adding introductory paragraphs between the sections, to add context.
